Half the Time but Full of Insight

My Battle with Sudden Change

Hey Ya’ll,

I had an amazing time in Edmonton, AB, Canada, you’ll see some pictures below. But honestly, things didn’t go as planned. The event was running behind, which meant my workshop and panel were both cut in half. After flying eight hours to be there, I was not happy and left with mixed feelings. That’s when I leaned on Dr. William Bridges’ transition framework to regulate myself and refocus. I hope this model blesses you as much as it has blessed me over the years!

RESOURCE:
Bridges Transition Model

REVELATION:

When my workshop time was cut short, I realized my frustration wasn’t just about the schedule, it was about the transition. First came the ending, losing the time and depth I expected. Then the neutral zone, where I felt stuck and disoriented. But then I shifted to a new beginning by reframing what’s possible and focusing on what I can still control. This model helps me move from anger to clarity and forward momentum, ending in gratitude. I was grateful for the opportunity to present to people from all over the world, regardless of the amount of time.

REFLECTION:

  • When a change disrupted your plans, what specific loss were you most frustrated about, and did you fully acknowledge it?

  • Looking back, how did you eventually adapt, and what helped you move from frustration toward a new beginning?

DON’T FORGET
